Extendas has reached an important milestone: the SPINpos POS system and the accompanying outdoor payment solution SPINopt have been officially certified under the European Measuring Instruments Directive (MID). The certification was granted by the renowned Swedish testing institute RISE, ensuring that Extendas complies with the strictest European standards for transactions involving measuring instruments such as fuel dispensers.
SPINpos meets all requirements
The origins of SPINpos lie in the carwash and shop sector. More than five years ago, Extendas developed an innovative iPad-based cash register, enabling entrepreneurs in these industries to process payments quickly and easily. In recent months, we launched a renewed iPad POS system, which has been significantly enhanced and is now suitable for fuel transactions. Thanks to this expansion – and compliance with the rigorous MID requirements – SPINpos has now received its official MID certification.
SPINopt introduction
The expansion into the petrol sector also brought a new step forward: the introduction of SPINopt, the outdoor payment solution developed by Extendas in collaboration with Gilbarco. SPINopt is connected to the DOMS PSS 5000 forecourt controller, the central hub of the fueling station infrastructure. The fuel dispensers are linked to this controller, after which transactions are seamlessly and in real-time transmitted to the SPINpos POS system.
As soon as a customer fuels their vehicle, the transaction is instantly recognized, processed, and settled through SPINpos. The entire process – from fuel delivery to payment – is therefore fully certified and highly reliable.
Future ready solution for service stations
With this certification, Extendas takes a major step in further digitizing and modernizing service stations and carwashes. The combination of user-friendly software, reliable transaction processing, and certified integrations makes SPINpos + SPINopt a future-proof, all-in-one solution for fuel and carwash entrepreneurs.
