OK Locations use Extendas SPINpos cash registers

A few years ago, OK transitioned to Extendas' back-office solution. This successful collaboration was further expanded at the end of 2024. At the high-traffic highway locations OK Hoogblokland and OK Eemakker, multiple SPINpos (iPad) cash register systems from Extendas have now been installed and are used specifically for the bakery/shop areas. These are premium locations with a unique food service concept, where peak times demand a POS system that can scale with ease.

The hospitality module
In collaboration with several Extendas customers, an advanced hospitality module was developed to simplify the sale of composed items, such as sandwiches. The module guides employees step-by-step through the order process.

Items can be configured in detail from either FuelOffice or SPIN, allowing staff to easily handle both optional and required choices per recipe directly from the POS. As a result, extensive work instructions are no longer needed, and the right questions are always asked at the counter. Recipe changes can also be rolled out instantly across all locations.

The module also supports kitchen processes with production tickets and order numbers. For example, tickets for hot sandwiches are automatically sent to the hot side of the kitchen. Combined with FuelOffice, the system offers real-time insight into item usage, giving OK full control over stock levels and ordering processes.

Process development and implementation
Remco Muurlink, project manager at Extendas, looks back on the process with satisfaction: “Due to the termination of their previous vendor contract, OK needed to switch systems on short notice. Despite the tight timeline, we completed the project well ahead of schedule without sacrificing functionality. Thanks to close cooperation with OK and our partner Mokobouw, we ensured a smooth installation process with zero downtime at these high-traffic locations. The collaboration with OK was extremely positive, and since go-live, there have been no support requests. It was fantastic to work with such a knowledgeable and forward-thinking organization.”

Preparation played a key role. With targeted training beforehand and on-site expertise on the transition day, the switch went off without a hitch. Regular feedback sessions during development ensured the solution was closely aligned with OK’s operational needs. The result is a future-proof system that worked seamlessly from day one, immediately boosting OK’s efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Future plans
The successful implementation of SPINpos at OK Hoogblokland and OK Eemakker is just the beginning. More OK locations are scheduled to follow. In addition, work is underway to integrate online ordering and further connect to De Digitale, whose order kiosks are fully integrated with the SPIN platform. These developments fit perfectly with Extendas' vision as a true integrator, connecting various systems to give businesses maximum flexibility and freedom of choice.
